If you are looking to combine your ceremony and reception, then Porters is an excellent choice. Built in the late 15th Century, this Grade I listed house offers many fine features. Guests are welcomed in the oak panelled hall with its finely carved characters (better know as the ?Worthies).
Or if you'd prefer, there is the Mayoress's pretty sitting room with its beautiful Regency ceiling. The dinning room seats up to 30 guests, and is set with fine antique furniture? it is a great choice for small, intimate receptions. There is also the amazing Solar Room with its 16th Century timbered ceiling, or for those who are looking for a venue with a difference and only want a select number of guests, there is the Mayor's Parlour.
Your guests can wander around the pretty secluded gardens which are an ideal location for photographs. It is a great venue which offers flexibility with ceremonies and receptions.

A popular choice for weddings is the 14th Century Southchurch Hall, one of Southend's hidden treasures.
The house is beautiful, surrounded by its own moat and set in attractive gardens with water features, extensive lawns and mature landscapes.
Civil ceremonies are performed in the impressive Great Hall (displayed as a late medieval room).
This is a smaller venue which can accommodate up to 40 guests.

The Jubilee Room is a large venue, simply decorated and accommodating up to 92 guests.
As the venue is an approved premise, it allows more choice with the ceremony. Couples wishing to marry may select their vows, have readings or poetry and choose their own music.
Churchill Gardens is also a short walk away with its attractive gardens, water features and mature landscapes.
It is an ideal location for your family photographs.
