Following its third successful year, we have launched a brand new Wedding of the Year competition, which means we're on the look out for fabulous big days in the county again.
Whether you enjoyed a lavish country house do with hundreds of family and friends, or an intimate celebration in your back garden, we want to hear from you! As well as being crowned competition winners, the couple voted into first place will enjoy a luxurious two-night break at Stoke By Nayland Hotel Golf and Spa, worth £750.
How does it work?
The competition runs from October, 2011 to September, 2012 so if you've already said 'I do', or are planning to tie the knot later this year, we'd love to hear from you.
The wedding must have taken place in Essex to qualify, but aside from that there are no rules: it doesn't matter whether the wedding was large or small; modest or spectacular.
Every issue we'll reveal the shortlisted couples, and readers can then vote online for their favourite newlyweds. The winners of each issue will then go through to the final, which will be held in spring next year.
How to enter
If you'd like to put your wedding forward, simply click on 'I want to enter' link above, where you'll find a short entry form. Once you've filled in your details click 'submit' and, if your entry has been successful, a member of the team will contact you. It's as simple as that.
What’s the prize?

The overall winners will not only claim the Wedding of the Year title and enjoy seeing their big day featured in An Essex Wedding, they'll also win a romantic two-night break at Stoke By Nayland Hotel Golf & Spa.
Set within 300 acres of countryside and with 80 contemporary bedrooms, two championship golf courses and a spa, the hotel is ideal for both hen parties and newlyweds alike. The state-of-the-art spa has a range of treatments available, including the popular Rasoul Egyptian Mud Therapy Experience.
The hotel is also opening five luxury Country Lodges in April this year, located on the estate. Overlooking a large lake and rolling countryside, the self-catered, serviced lodges will have a iroko wood exterior with cedar wood roof tiles, while the stylish interiors will be inspired by the 1940s and furnished to a high standard. Sleeping from two to 10 guests, ideal for large family wedding parties, guests will be able to make full use of the Stoke by Nayland facilities.
With a plethora of stunning banqueting suites, the hotel can also cater to both small and large weddings of up to 280 guests. With a licence for civil ceremonies, the rooms offer newlyweds private terraces and views over the lake - ideal for memorable wedding snaps.
